Kagemann_Headshot 001I am Derek Kagemann, a freelance author living in Southern Indiana with my wife and two children.

I write deeply philosophical musings about sex robots and post-apocalyptic nursing homes. I’ve worked short stints doing exciting things, like being a Wild West cowboy, a movie extra, publishing a magazine, and singing in a band, but the long haul has been devoted to caring for my family.

A few years ago, my nascent writing career was sidelined by the birth of our critically ill daughter and my wife’s failing health. Yet, my role as a caregiver has given me a new perspective on what it means to be an author and inspired me to pick up my pen once again.

This blog is meant to help me stay on track and keep connected with my friends, family, and perhaps even fans interested in my work. I have experience as an editor, writing coach, and group coordinator if you are seeking professional help with a project. This page is moderated, so inquiries and contact information may be posted here without them becoming publicly visible.
